Spider Web Counting Free Printable Mats
These spider web counting mats make learning the numbers 0-10 hands-on and engaging. Your kids will get a kick out of learning to count with spiders!
Lately, I have been teaching my 3-year-old how to count things. One of our favorite ways to practice this skill is with counting mats.
My kids really enjoyed these fall tree counting mats and then it occurred to me that it would be a lot of fun to make a spider web version.
The best part is that you only need a bag of spider rings to use these. And you can pick those up in nearly every store in October. I got a package of 50 of them at the dollar store.

- Spider Web Counting Mats (link at bottom of post)
- Spider rings
- Cardstock and dry erase pockets for durability
Print the spider web counting mats out on cardstock. If you are going to use these in a classroom, you will probably want to laminate them for durability. Or you could slide them into dry-erase pockets like I did.
If the rings on the back of the spider bother you, you can cut them off very easily. Then the spiders will lay flat. I actually ended up cutting them off a bunch so I could do another activity with them. So stay tuned for that!
Using the Spider Web Counting Mats
It is really quite self-explanatory. Children will look at the number on the mat or the dots on the ten-frame and add that many spiders to the web. My kids also like to place spiders on the dots in the ten-frame as well.
These would be the perfect addition to fall learning activities at home or in a math center at preschool. I decided to add the dots to the ten-frame so that they would be a bit self-correcting. They can match the spiders to the dots and then put the same amount on the web.
These will be a staple on our math shelf this month! I hope your kids enjoy them too!
